How do I create lists?

Creating lists in your Trac system is a great way to organize and keep track of different groups of students. There are two types of lists that can be created in the Trac system. They are called Static Lists and Dynamic Lists. First we’ll cover Static Lists.

 

Static Lists are lists that you assign student to, and remove students from manually. To create a Static List you can start at your Dashboard and choose Students.

This will take you to your Students Listing. Once there click the menu button in the top left (3 bars), choose Lists…, and then Create New Static List.

This will ask you for the name of your new list:

The next time you go to the menu –> Lists your new list will appear. If you search for a student or some students that you want to add to the list you can then choose the menu –> Lists –> Add these to…  and then pick the list you want to add them to.

 

 

The other type of list is the Dynamic List. A Dynamic List shows you students based off search criteria. It’s almost like an automatically updating list based off of whatever search criteria is created with. For example if I search for students with the last name Johnson and then create a new Dynamic List then any time I look at that list it will show students with the last name Johnson including any recently added “Johnson” students.

To create a Dynamic List you will first want to perform a search using the criteria that you want to use for your List. Below is an example:

Once you name your New Dynamic List then the next time you come to the Students Listing you can choose that list to view the appropriate students.
